The East Windsor Historical Society is located in East Windsor, Connecticut, USA.
You can learn the basics of the town here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Windsor%2C_Connecticut
The society itself was formed in 1965 through the efforts of many town’s people, though the primary force behind its formation was L. Ellsworth Stoughton. I don’t know much about Mr. Stoughton, as he died before I joined the organization, but he seems like a very decent and good man. As I go through our museum’s endless records, box, and hoards of stuff, I am constantly finding his notes and ideas. Our museum is housed in the old Scantic Academy. (Basic info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_Windsor_Academy ) Along with the main building, we have a Barber Shop, Probate Court, and 2 barns (one with a converted apartment). I’ll post photos soon.
If you ever decide to stop by, we’re located at 115 Scantic Road, East Windsor, CT. Open every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
And me you ask? My name is Jessica. I’m Broad Brook (village of East Windsor) born and raised. After graduating from Central Connecticut State University in 2004, I worked at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton/New London area. In 2006, I moved back to town and started volunteering at the museum. I’ve been there every Saturday ever since. Questions? Just e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
